WEDA... The Writing Challenge of Writing Challenges...
Praise the Lord!!!! I have started my writing challenge. I call it WEDA (Write Every Day in April). Here's why I started a writing challenge:
To create enough materials for my next book, I have challenged myself to write at least 500 words and no more than 1000 words every day in the month of April. And that's it really. I want to keep writing so I can keep growing as a writer. I figured, my over active imagination has gotten me out of a whole heap of trouble in the past, why not give it to the world, right?
It has been challenging to say the least; however, I am on Day 5 and so far, I have managed to keep up with each entry. This has been the most challenging thing I have ever done. I can't believe I started this... I can't believe I committed myself to full creativity for 30 days straight. What was I thinking?
Anyway, I am thinking about posting the raw entries everyday to my blog, but what if people read them and hate them? What if people think I am a psycho? What if I come off as a weirdo? They are EXTREMELY raw at this point, no editing or formatting at all. Many of the stories are half-cocked and incomplete. What if people think I am a bad writer. Writing is basically the only thing I am good at... if I lose this, what will I do with the rest of my life?
At this point, I am not sure what to do with the RAW MATERIALS that I have created; however, I know that I will do something with it once it's finished... I just have to keep moving forward and not stop what I am doing no matter what the future may hold for the writings.
As Always,
Be BRAVE, be BOLD, and WRITE ON!!!!!
