New Writing Challenge???

I have been considering a new writing challenge for a while now. I love them because they force me to writer EVERY SINGLE DAY and if you are a writer, you know how hard that can be sometimes. Carving out time just to stare at a blank sheet of paper is dificult, to say the least. So completing a challenge helps to turn on the creativity faucet and get the waters of the written word running.

A writing challenge also makes it easy for me to complete my new contribute to my new magazine. Slated to debut in Summer 2018, Flash Fiction Aficionado (found at the link) is a quarterly magazine. It is scheduled to highlights the best parts of flash fiction while keeping readers entertained.

The hardest part of completing a writing challenge is consistency which is hard. So many things tend to get in the way of finishing a writing challenge. Family, the life support, and personal issues are a few of the many things that creep into writing time.

Still, it’s important to me that I have enough material to fill my new magazine by myself. My goal is to bring other writers into the spotlight; but, if that's not possible, I need to be able to do it on my own.

When considering the new challenge, I thought to myself, “what do I want the writing challenge to do?” I want to generate enough content to fill the new quarterly magazine for one year.

So, my new writing challenge is simple. It is 28 days of Flash Fiction. I am going to write -500 and 1,000 words on some preselected topics. I know this will be hard. But I have got to set realistic goals for myself this year and then let nothing stop me from achieving them. So far, I have two topics selected… only twenty-six left to go.

Now, how will you guys get to access to the magazine? Well, that’s a conversation for another blog…
